Recommended Websites How To Maintain A Car Battery Open your hood and locate where’s your battery. Two posts where the battery cables are connected must be cleaned thoroughly. Make sure that they are free from any corrosion. As you all know, corrosion can impede the cables from getting a charge from the battery and prevent your car from starting. Use a wire brush and scrub the contacts clean. Inspect the car battery cell casing and cover for any cracks. If there are signs of moisture and a strong sour smell, your battery might have leaks. Be extra careful when handling car cattery leaks because there are strong and harmful chemicals inside the battery. If the fluid doesn’t reach the top of the plates inside the car battery, it must be top up with distilled water. Never use tap water! You can get distilled water specifically for car batteries of the counter in your nearest gas stations. Automotive Sites: |
